I saw dessert gyoza posted somewhere but never looked into them in much detail but was intrigued. I write down recipes when I think of them and this one was in the archive. It's an unusual concept and to be honest I wasn't sure if it would work. Not sure why I was worried, what's not to like about pastry, sugary marshmallows, nuts and luscious Nutella? It's probably not the most elegant of looking dishes (well maybe my plating) but it tastes so good. These are surprisingly quick to make with a few cheats. I used pre-made dumpling sheets and I also a little dumpling maker which I bought on Amazon. You can easily just crimp the edges with a fork or pinch them together.
8 dumpling pre-made dumpling sheets
120g Nutella or nut spread
40g mini marshmallows (about 4 per pot sticker)
80g chopped mixed nuts
1 1/2 tbsp. peanut oil
2 tbsp. water
1/2 beaten egg
Lay out your dumpling sheets on a clean benchtop. Brush a little of the egg around the edges of the sheet. Spoon a tsp. or so of the Nutella in the centre. I probably added a bit too much as they oozed a little but hey, more is more in my world. Sprinkle some marshmallows and nuts on top. Seal the pot sticker. and set aside. Repeat with the remaining ingredients.
Heat a frying pan (one with a lid) and add the oil. Allow to heat and add the pot stickers. Brown for 2 minutes on each side.
Add the water to the pan and cover with the lid. Cook for a further 4 minutes.
Serve up. They would be delicious served with a scoop of ice cream and so melted Nutella over the top.
